Day 1
Brisbane
Once you’ve collected your Britz Camper from the conveniently located Brisbane branch, why add into your travel itinerary some time in Brisbane so that you can enjoy all that the bustling city has to offer? Brisbane is the perfect starting location for your adventure to Byron Bay. The area in and around the city is packed full with so many things to see and do including a bite to eat and marvel at the festivities at the Eat Street Northshore Markets. If a relaxing stroll through nature is what you’re craving before hitting the road, then the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens are a must-visit. If a little culture is on the cards then head across to the Museum Of Brisbane to be amazed and delighted at their array of exhibitions, tours and events.

Day 2
Brisbane to Gold Coast
Distance 80km - Driving Time 1 Hour 15 Minutes
Once you’ve enjoyed all the sights and sounds of Brisbane, it’s time to continue on your Brisbane to Byron Bay road trip. First stop along the way is the wonderful Gold Coast. With a huge array of attractions, activities and experiences to keep you entertained, we’re sure you’ll enjoy this stop as much as we always do!
One thing that should be on every road trip itinerary when visiting the Gold Coast is a visit to their world-famous theme parks. Whether you stop in at Dreamworld, Sea World, Wet n’ Wild or Movie World, there is sure to be something to suit every traveller! If you feel like a shopping spree is on the cards, then Pacific Fair shopping centre is the spot to be. Here you can shop till you drop thanks to their endless options of boutique shops, dining options and amenities. After all that excitement a dip in the ocean or day at the beach will be well worth it. The Gold Coast is home to so many beautiful beaches that are scattered all up and down the coast. From Surfers Paradise and Main Beach to Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta, you’re sure to find a perfect spot of sand to enjoy some warming sunshine.
When it’s time to rest for the evening, our go-to to park our campervan hire is at the Main Beach Tourist Park. With its prime location, modern facilities and lovely campsites, this will be the welcomed haven after a full day of exploring.

Day 3
Gold Coast to Tallebudgera Creek
Distance 20km - Driving Time 30 Minutes
An easy and scenic drive from the Gold Coast will have you at Tallebudgera Creek. Here picturesque beaches meet the crystal-clear Tallebudgera Creek. This gorgeous creek invites you to go for a swim, paddleboard or kayak along its calm waters, before taking a stroll through the Burleigh Heads National Park that wraps around the coastline to give you the best vantage point for a great view! Parking up for the night is made all the better at Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park. With grassy campsites, a family-friendly feel and great facilities, this will be a great spot for you and your Britz camper.

Day 4
Tallebudgera Creek to Springbrook National Park
Distance 52km - Driving Time 1hr
Next up on the road trip is a visit to Springbrook National Park. This drive promises to be full of natural beauty, from world-heritage listed rainforests and cascading waterfalls, to rolling countryside and distant oceans.
Once you get to Springbrook National Park, you’ll be spoilt for choice of what to do. One wonderful walking trail will lead you to Purling Brook Falls which is one of Queensland’s highest waterfalls and promises spectacular views! There are so many more walks to discover to suit every traveller so we suggest checking out the maps and deciding from there.
Camping for the night will be a delight under the stars at the Settlement camping area, within the Springbrook National Park. You’ll get a great view of the Milky Way up above, as well as enjoy complete peace within the natural setting.

Day 5
Springbrook National Park to Hastings Point
Distance 85km - Driving Time 1 Hour 30 Minutes
Continuing the road trip south will have you take a scenic drive along the Tweed Coast Road, all the way to Hastings Point. Along the way you’ll enjoy the scenic views of the Byron hinterland, as well as ocean glimpses to get you excited for what’s to come.
When you get to Hastings Point, you’ll discover a laid back surfer town with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We love driving our campervan up to the Hastings Point Headland from which you can take in the 180 degree views of the ocean and surrounding beaches. You can stroll from side to side, enjoying the awe-inspiring views, and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to spot passing dolphins or soaring eagles. We highly suggest enjoying a picnic lunch or dinner up here, while relaxing to the sounds of the ocean.

Day 6
Hastings Point to Byron Bay
Distance 46km - Driving Time 40 Minutes
A short but beautiful drive a little further south will have you in the picturesque surfy town of Byron Bay. With a friendly, relaxed vibe, lush countryside, gorgeous beaches and hidden coves, this place is sure to capture your heart.
There are an endless list of wonderful activities and experiences to be had, one of which is a walk or drive up to the Cape Byron Lighthouse, a great spot to take in the panoramic views of the surrounding area or even catch the sunrise or sunset if you time your visit right! A trip to Byron Bay wouldn’t be complete without some beach time, and Main Beach is our go-to! It’s lifeguard patrolled and just moments from the hustle and bustle of the Byron Bay shops, cafes and restaurants, a great post-beach spot to enjoy a bite to eat and stroll the shops.
When searching for that perfect place to park your camper for the night… or maybe two… you can’t go past the Reflections Holiday Park. Set right on the beach, with prime view of the popular Pass surf spot, this park promises an ideal campsite to unwind and relax.
Day 7
Byron Bay to Lennox Heads
Distance 20km - Driving Time 20 Minutes
A little further south of Byron Bay will have you at a lovely coastal town called Lennox Head. Along the way, the drive will take you through soaring rainforest and past rolling countryside. If you’re looking for a perfect picnic spot in Lennox Head, then the Pat Morton Lookout is a must-stop. With spacious, free parking spaces boasting uninterrupted views across the water, all the way to Cape Byron, you’ll be able to put out a picnic rug, enjoy a delicious camper-made meal while watching some world-class surfing. After a bite to eat and relaxing time, how about a little stroll along the Lennox Head Boardwalk. This walk will give you the best vantage points to take in the sights of this spectacular coastline, and lead you all the way to the Lennox Heads shops where you can enjoy a coffee or cool drink before strolling the charming little town.
A night or two in Lennox Head is a must, and the Lennox Head Holiday Park is the perfect spot to stay! With modern facilities, a picturesque setting between a tea-tree scented lake and Seven Mile Beach, and an ideal location close to the heart of town, this promises to be the perfect stay for your time here.

Day 8
Lennox Heads to Brisbane
Distance 184km - Driving Time 2 Hours 10 Minutes
After what is sure to be an incredible adventure, it’s time to head back to Brisbane to drop off your camper. The drive should only take a little over 2 hours and is a lovely mix of country driving and highway driving. Once you get to Brisbane, why not discover a little more of the city? There are some great experiences that will end the trip perfectly including getting up close and personal with cuddly koalas at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, or taking a stroll through the incredible gardens of the Roma Street Parkland. On your way back to the Britz Brisbane branch, stop in again at the Eat Street Northshore for more great food, then head across to the Britz branch where their friendly team will be ready to welcome you.
